Lydia Cagney Morris
Lydia Cagney Morris


 A popular and well loved ballet teacher,examiner and adjudicator

Principal Lydia Cagney Morris has been involved in dance for 40 years.

Lydia started her early dance training in the R.A.D Ballet syllabus in Ulverstone, Tasmania.

Lydia obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Performance Studies from Victoria University of Technology in 1993 and is a qualified 

Licentiate Diploma teacher with  Cecchetti Ballet Australia

       Lydia has been the state organiser of the Cecchetti Ballet

Victoria’s Choreographic Competition since 2003.

In addition to her extensive experience and qualifications Lydia also obtained a

Diploma of Dance Teaching and Management- CUA50311 with the

A.T.O.D- Australian Teachers of Dancing in 2014.

In addition to her dance teaching work Lydia has worked as an Adjudicator of

Dance,Speech and Drama all over Australia and New Zealand since the year 2000

Previously a dance a teacher at the MLC-Methodist Ladies College in Kew

Lydia also trained as a W.A.G (Womens Artistic Gymnastics) Beginner Gymnastics Coach in 2019.

In addition to her work in performing arts Lydia works as a Kindergarten educator and has a

Diploma of Early Childhood Education is an AMEB PAA (Performing Arts Awards) Examiner. 



Vanessa Northcott
Vanessa Northcott


Vanessa Northcott started her early dance training aged three, attending jazz and ballet classes at Mathis School of Dance in Braeside.

She recently graduated her 2nd year of Full Time receiving her Diploma of Dance as a Pre-Professional student at Transit Dance. Primarily majoring in contemporary under the direction of Paul Malek,

Vanessa has trained in a variety of additional styles including the Cecchetti Classical Ballet Syllabus where

she completed her Intermediate examination, attaining the ‘Athol Willoughby Award’ in 2011.

Vanessa also studied at Patrick Studios Australia for 4 years, graduating year 12 from Patrick Studios Academy of Performing Arts in 2014.

Throughout Vanessa’s final school year she was successful in receiving a result of 50 for her VCE VET Dance studies.

She was then selected to perform as a candidate of the VCE Season of Excellence as a Top Class Dance Performer. In 2015,

Vanessa completed her 1st year as a Full Time Performing Arts student at Patrick Studios under the direction of Todd Patrick.

Throughout these years Vanessa was able to reach a high level of skill in commercial work and core jazz technique.

Alongside her dance training, Vanessa has spent 10 years as a National stream gymnast, achieving National Level 7 in a competitive training squad.

She also has 2 years’ experience training in the position of a flyer as part of Bayside Bullets cheerleading team, enabling her to progress her acrobatic ability to complement her dancing.

Vanessa has now been a freelance dance teacher for 3 years present, educating and choreographing solos and group dances in a vast variety of styles. Recently,

Vanessa has been awarded Runner up in the Youth Choreographic Competition ‘Dance Architect’ where she was awarded residency at Transit Dance to develop her piece further in 2017.

Rory Neville
Rory Neville

Rory Neville  has extensive dance training all over Austrlia and beyond. 

From his initial training in his home state of Queensland he then became a Full time Elite student at the

Perth School of Ballet under the directorship of Simone Jackson Pike and Janine Bain.

Rory then studied at the National Theatre Ballet School with Beverley Jane Fry and then

attended the Alberta Ballet School in Canada as a Post Graduate student under teachers Ashley Mcnell and Edmund Stripe.

After returning to Melbourne to train at Transit Dance under Paul Malek and Bradley Chatfield before joining

SCIMM Dance Company as a Company Artist in 2020-2021.  

A dedicated and caring teacher Rory joined Bayside Ballet in 2021 to teach our male ballet students

both ballet and pilates.

We are so excited to have Rory join the BBA team.

Ellie Martin
Ellie Martin

Ellie Martin is a very talented and popular teacher at Bayside Ballet Academy joining the team in 2021.

Ellie has experience in both musical theatre and dance with extensive training in all areas.

She trained in the R.A.D syllabus with Jane Moore up to

Intermediate level which she obtained in 2009 with Distinction.

Ellie also undertook a 2 year full time Musical Theatre training with Robert Sturrock and

full time acting course at the Acting Performance Studio graduating in 2018.

Ellie has performed in numerous shows with both CLOC and the

Beaumaris Theatre Company since 2011.

She was also a dancer in both the Starlight Foundations Charity Ball and

with Rob Mills at Crown Casino in  2008.

Ellie grew up with a talented "tap dancing teacher' Mum

well known for her high level of training throughout Melbourne.

We love having Ellie onboard every Tuesday at BBA and look forward to a fantastic year.
